Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in fire attacks in Donbas on 1 January, the antiterrorist operation (ATO) HQ has said in its evening update.

From midnight to 1800 [Kyiv time], the ATO HQ registered 22 cease-fire violations, mostly in the Mariupol sector.

Pro-Russian militants fired with 82-mm mortars on Shyrokyne and Vodyane, with grenade launchers and small arms on Vodyane, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, Maryinka and Novotroyitske. The same arms were used in the Donetsk sector: in Luhanske, Avdiyivka, Troyitske and Zaytseve.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants used grenade launchers near Stanytsya Luhanska and small arms near Syze.

On Saturday, 31 December, they launched 44 attacks on the ATO positions, wounding one serviceman.
