Kyrylo Budanov, Commander of Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that several assassination attempts on russian president vladimir putin had taken place.

One of them was after russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Budanov said in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

"There was even an assassination attempt on him through, as they say, representatives of the Caucasus not long ago. This is non-public information. Absolutely unsuccessful attempt, however it really took place... It was about two months ago. Once again, it was unsuccessful. There is no publicity about this event, but it happened," he said.

In March, the MDI reported that the russian elite was considering the possibility of removing putin from his position. Poisoning and a sudden disease were considered options.

In May, Budanov said in an interview that the turning point in the war with russia would come in August. The occupying country is suffering huge losses in Ukraine, and the war could be over by the end of the year.
