Another 10 children have been returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Those brought back from occupation include seven boys and three girls aged between two and 17.
Among those rescued is a six-year-old boy who grew up under constant shelling and attacks by Russian drones. The drones circled directly above the playgrounds where he played, while nearby homes were being destroyed. As a result of what he endured, the child suffered psychological trauma, became withdrawn and was afraid to go outside.
A 17-year-old girl survived a direct hit by a Russian drone into her own room. At gunpoint, she was forced to attend an occupation-run school. During attacks, children were not allowed into shelters and were made to remain for hours inside buildings near windows.
A 16-year-old boy lived in near isolation for four years. His relatives kept him hidden at home so the occupiers would not force him to study under the Russian curriculum and would not place him on the military register.
At one point, the invaders broke into the family home to carry out a search and threatened the boy and his relatives.
The children are currently safe and receiving the necessary assistance.
The return was facilitated by the charity "Save Ukraine" as part of the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
Since the start of 2026, 180 children have already been returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
"Thank you to everyone who helps bring our children home every day. Thanks to our joint efforts, they can once again be safe, close to their loved ones and on Ukrainian soil," Prokudin emphasised.
