Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy has reported that a device that may have been used for eavesdropping was found in his official car. It has an antenna and a SIM card, he said, showing the find in a video.
Sadovyy said the car was checked after, over the course of a month, the vehicle’s battery repeatedly went completely flat, and something also started “knocking” inside it. The car was taken apart and an unknown device was found.
“I have no idea who could have put this here. But if it was done officially, by a court decision, by our agencies – OK, please come and take it away. If it’s unclaimed but needed for some investigations, law enforcement agencies can also take a look at it,” he said.
Sadovyy said he would inform the heads of the relevant services. A year ago, unknown listening equipment was also found in Sadovyy’s office. He says he did not receive a clear answer as to what it was.
