The special unit of the KORD operative rapid action corps of the Donetsk regional police has arrived in the front-line town of Avdiyivka, regional police chief Vyacheslav Abroskin has said on Facebook.
"Militants have not stopped shelling Avdiyivka, the town has no power supply again. Today once again the special unit of the Donetsk regional police directorate was dispatched to Avdiyivka on enhanced duty. It is tasked to help civilians and, if necessary, do what is necessary to rescue them and ensure order in the town," he said.
The Russian representatives in the Joint Centre for Coordination and Control of Ceasefire did not give guarantees that militants would stop firing in the area where power lines leading to Avdiyivka were damaged.
Earlier, the town was left without clean water supply after a shell hit the Donetsk filtering station and it was stopped.
