After the liberation of the territories of Kyiv region from the russian occupiers, the body of Olha Sukhenko, the deceased Head of Motyzhyn village, was found.

She was killed in captivity by the russian military, said the Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk.

“This is a war crime. The perpetrators will definitely be punished in accordance with the international humanitarian law,” she said.

According to Vereshchuk, the occupiers are holding in captivity 11 heads of local communities from Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions.

“We inform the International Committee of the Red Cross about them and other missing civilians. Through this international organization, we demand that the russian federation provides information on the location of captured civilians and their health,” Vereshchuk said.

Ukraine is also negotiating the release of all civilians as part of the prisoners of war exchange.

Russian troops capture representatives of local authorities and activists and try to persuade them to cooperate. Mayors and Heads of villages refuse to make concessions to enemies.
