The Brave1 cluster and the Dutch Ministry of Defence are launching a large-scale project called Brave Netherlands.
This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
The joint grant fund will finance cutting-edge developments by Ukrainian and Dutch defence technology companies, focusing on the current needs of the front line and strengthening European security. The programme is based on the establishment of a joint fund with an expected budget of €20 million.
Developers from Ukraine and the Netherlands creating innovative solutions in the fields of unmanned technologies, robotic systems, missiles, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare and electronic countermeasures, communications, and other advanced defence sectors are invited to participate.
Funding will be provided equally by both countries on a 50–50 basis.
As noted by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, joint international bodies will be established to ensure transparency and a balanced assessment of projects:
- Executive boards – responsible for making final decisions on the allocation of funds.
- Expert committees – comprising representatives from both countries to conduct a professional assessment of applications.
On 7 July, during the NATO summit in Ankara, Ukraine signed an agreement with the Netherlands on the joint production of drones. The document also lays the groundwork for broader cooperation between the two countries.
