President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine on 2 September. Today, Russian Shaheds hit one of Kyiv’s universities during classes. At the time of the attack, 160 students were in a shelter.
Zelenskyy reported this on his social media.
Overnight, Russian forces attacked Odesa. A residential building and city infrastructure were damaged; five people were injured, including a child.
In Kherson, a building used by rescuers and the police was hit. In Kharkiv Region, Russian strikes left thousands of people without electricity, and there were injuries.
The President also noted that in many regions of Ukraine, air-raid alerts are continuing due to the threat of jet-powered drones and aerial bombs. Zelenskyy said the response of the world and the most influential leaders to Russia’s new escalation remains insufficient.
“When, in Europe, Russian-Iranian Shaheds unleash this kind of round-the-clock terror, it cannot remain a problem for our country alone,” the President stressed.
He added that Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages effectively allow Russia to refine tactics it could use against other countries and peoples. The President urged partners to provide Ukraine with additional air-defence systems, increase sanctions pressure on Russia, and significantly step up defence production.
