Germany will deliver new air defence packages to Ukraine as early as this month. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said so on social media after a call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

According to Zelenskyy, during the conversation they also discussed the Russian attack on the airfield in Leipzig. The President called it another escalation by Russia and noted that Merz had informed him of the measures Germany had taken in response.

Separately, the two also discussed the Drone Deal agreement. The Ukrainian and German teams are currently finalising the text and setting a date for its signing. Zelenskyy said the agreement should strengthen capabilities to protect Ukraine and Germany.

"We agreed on a face-to-face meeting," the Ukrainian President noted.

He also assured Merz that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise and experience with Germany.
