An unidentified drone has been found on the coast near the Finnish city of Porvoo. It is believed the UAV was used for surveying and mapping.
This was reported by Finland’s Ministry of Defence.
According to preliminary information, the UAV that was found was used for surveying and mapping. There is currently no evidence that it poses a danger to the public.
"The Finnish Border Guard and the police are investigating the incident", – said Finland’s Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
The Ministry of Defence noted that the Border Guard will provide additional information about the circumstances of the incident once the relevant stages of the investigation have been completed.
- On 1 September, in Romania’s Vaslui County, a damaged drone carrying explosives was found. It was discovered by a local resident in an agricultural field, about 30 kilometres from the border with Moldova.
