As a result of the Russian attack on the night of 3 September, destruction and damage were recorded in 13 regions of Ukraine. In a number of cities and communities, air-raid alerts have effectively not stopped due to the threat of Russian jet-powered drones.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on social media.

In Odesa, work is ongoing at the site where a Russian drone struck a residential high-rise. Due to damage to flats from the 10th to the 17th floors, 17 people were injured, including three children. Emergency and municipal services continue to work at the scene.

Rescuers are also dealing with the aftermath of strikes in the Obukhiv and Boryspil districts of Kyiv Region. According to the president, a designated number of State Emergency Service units are working to extinguish a fire at a pharmaceutical company’s warehouse.

In addition to Kyiv Region and Odesa Region, Russian forces struck Nikopol, Kherson, Sumy, Zaporizhzhya and Khmelnytskyy.

Zelenskyy said Russia continues to ramp up the intensity of its attacks and urged partners to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences.

"The enemy did not go on holiday — the Russians have found a new escalation and do not plan to slow its pace," the president wrote.

He stressed the need to speed up the production of protective equipment in Europe, above all air-defence systems to counter missiles and drones. The president added that Ukraine is working with partners every day on new defence packages.
