Overnight on 5 September, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 167 attack UAVs. Air defence forces neutralised 128 enemy attack UAVs.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
"On the night of 5 September (from 18:00 on 4 September), the enemy attacked with Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Russia’s Rostov and Voronezh regions, as well as 167 Shahed-type attack UAVs (about half of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones and ‘Parodiya’ decoy drones from the following directions: Oryol, Millerovo, Kursk, temporarily occupied Donetsk, Hvardiiske – temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea," the statement said.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defence shot down/suppressed 128 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as drones of other types.
Missile and enemy attack UAV strikes were recorded at 23 locations, and falling debris at 1 location.
According to the Air Force, some enemy weapons failed to reach their targets, and information about them is being уточнюється.
"The attack is ongoing, with enemy UAVs in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force stressed.
