Ukraine did indeed propose that Russia introduce a ceasefire. The relevant proposal was personally conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, but there was no response from the Russian side.
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the President’s Office, told Kyrylo Budanov "Suspilne".
According to Budanov, the Ukrainian proposal envisaged restrictions not only on strikes on Ukrainian territory, but also directly on the front line.
"But the drones are flying — you have all seen it," the head of the President’s Office said.

Thus, despite the proposal being passed to Russia, combat activity and drone attacks are continuing.
Kyrylo Budanov also recalled that this Sunday Ukraine will be visited by US President’s special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
He suggested that it may be during the envoys’ visit that Russia might refrain from striking Kyiv.
According to him, there is a possibility that there will be no Russian attacks on the capital during the visit by the American representatives, but this is only an assumption.
