Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the Ryazan oil refinery, the Rostov-on-Don airfield and three air defence sites in Russia’s Rostov region.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the night of 6 September 2026, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck a number of enemy targets,” the statement said.
A refinery in Ryazan, Ryazan Region of the Russian Federation, was hit. A fire was recorded on the facility’s premises. The refinery is involved in supplying the armed forces of the Russian aggressor.
According to SBS, the Ryazan refinery is one of the largest in Russia. Its capacity is about 17 million tonnes of oil per year. The plant produces petrol, diesel and aviation fuel, including for the needs of the Russian army.
The distance to the target is about 500 km.
According to Ukrainian military sources, overnight the Russians even deployed an attack helicopter over Ryazan to counter drones. However, it was a UAV that reached the refinery.
Also in Russia’s Rostov region, the Rostov-on-Don airfield was struck. A fire was recorded in the area of the site.
In addition, in the Rostov region the Defence Forces hit a “Podlyot” radar station and two “Pantsir-S1” surface-to-air missile and gun systems.
The extent of the damage is being clarified. Work against the enemy’s key targets continues.
