Since the start of the day on 17 October, 215 combat clashes have taken place along the фронт. Russian forces were most active on the Pokrovsk front, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 28 attacks. On the Kostiantynivka front, the Defence Forces stopped 15 assaults, and on the Huliaipole front – 18.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in an operational update.
Over the past day, the Russian army carried out one missile strike and 65 air strikes, dropping 228 guided aerial bombs. The enemy also deployed 5,173 kamikaze drones and shelled населённые пункты and Ukrainian troop positions 2,088 times.
On the Pokrovsk front the occupiers tried to advance near Dobropillia, Dorozhnie, Hannivka, Chernihivka, Vodianske, Krasnopillia, Myrne, Serhiivka, Molodetske, Mykolaivka, Muravka and Novopavlivka.
According to the General Staff’s preliminary estimates, in this sector of the front over the past day 82 Russian servicemen were killed and another 21 wounded. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 22 vehicles, one piece of special equipment and 32 enemy shelters. They also destroyed or suppressed 209 drones of various types.
On the Kostiantynivka front the Russians attacked in the area of Kostiantynivka and towards Novoselivka, Mykolaipillia, Raiske, Hruzke, Vilne and Kucherovyi Yar. The Defence Forces repelled 15 assaults.
On the Huliaipole front Ukrainian troops repelled 18 attacks in the areas of Rizdvianka, Dolynka, Hirke, Charivne and Yehorivka. On the Kupiansk front the enemy tried ten times to improve its position, attacking towards Novoosynove and Radkivka.
On the Lyman front Ukrainian defenders stopped seven Russian attempts to advance towards Novoserhiivka, Shandryholove, Stavky and Lyman. On the Orikhiv front the occupiers attacked seven times towards Chervona Krynytsia, Novodanylivka, Zarichne, Pavlivka and Prymorske.
On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna front, Russian forces carried out four attacks in the areas of Izbytske, Prylipky and Rybalchyne. On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk fronts the enemy conducted one assault action, carried out an air strike using six guided aerial bombs and launched 48 shelling attacks, one of them with multiple-launch rocket systems.
On the Sloviansk front the Defence Forces stopped two enemy attempts to advance near Pyskunivka and Yurkivka. On the Oleksandrivka front the Russians attacked once towards Ternove.
On the Kramatorsk and Dnipro fronts, the enemy did not conduct assault actions. No significant changes in the situation were recorded in other sections of the front.
