Another 15 people have been evacuated from Beryslav in the Kherson region, which is under constant shelling by the Russian army. Most of them are elderly.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Seven local residents were taken out of the danger zone by soldiers from one of the Territorial Defence Forces brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another eight were evacuated by volunteer Andrii Petukhov, known by the call sign "Boxer".
Among those rescued were three men and 12 women. All of them are now safe. People are being taken to relatives and loved ones in different regions of Ukraine and are being given the assistance they need.
According to Prokudin, the evacuation was dangerous because Russian forces continuously shell Beryslav with artillery and attack it with drones.
The head of the administration urged residents of communities in the Kherson region that are under constant shelling not to delay evacuation, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to leave due to intensified Russian attacks.
