Russia is expanding a network of Telegram bots through which it urges civilians to send photos and videos showing the aftermath of Russian drone strikes.
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
According to the Centre, behind promises of a cash reward lies direct cooperation with the security services of the aggressor state.
The CCD stresses that sharing photos and videos of the aftermath of Russian strikes helps the enemy adjust subsequent shelling. In this way, a person may become an accomplice to Russia’s crimes against Ukraine.
The Centre urges people not to engage with hostile chatbots. Passing information to the enemy about the location of air defence systems, the movement of strike assets, or the consequences of attacks is a crime punishable by up to life imprisonment.
- The Security Service detained a local resident in Kyiv who recorded the location of Ukrainian air defences on his phone and shared the video on Telegram.
