Servicemen of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade, together with adjacent units, carried out an aerial evacuation of a wounded infantryman from the 30th Separate Mechanised Brigade using the Ayudag-6 heavy hexacopter made in Ukraine by Gurzuf Defence. The military said so in a video.
The wounded serviceman was at a combat position. To get him to a safe place, specialists from the 92nd Brigade’s unmanned ground systems company adapted the Ayudag-6 heavy bomber drone to carry a person. Working together with the manufacturer, the military developed a technical solution that enabled the aircraft to transport the casualty while maintaining stability in the air and avoiding tipping over and excessive swaying. Before the operation, they conducted preliminary tests at Gurzuf Defence sites and agreed the action plan with adjacent units.
This solution was used because of the high activity of Russian drones and mined terrain, which made evacuation by a ground robotic system impossible.
Servicemen from the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade, the 30th and 14th Separate Mechanised Brigades, and the 10th Army Corps took part in the operation. The drone was directly piloted by an unmanned aerial vehicle operator from the 30th Separate Mechanised Brigade. The evacuation was completed successfully: the serviceman was saved. He is currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
According to data from the publication Oboronka, the Ayudag-6 can carry up to 90 kg of payload over a distance of up to 25 km. The Ayudag-6 is a multifunctional unmanned aircraft that can be used for evacuation and logistics, as well as in combat with a munition guidance system.
As a reminder, recently the Ukrainian defence technology company SkyFall presented the StarGate drone for airborne medical evacuation of the wounded.
