The documentary film «Militantropos» (Militantropos) by Alina Horlova, Yelyzaveta Smith and Semen Mozhovyi, about the transformation of human nature during war, has become available on Amazon Video. This was reported by the production company «Tabor».
According to the description, «Militantropos» captures human existence through the realities shattered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The film combines fragments of everyday life transformed by war — those who flee; those who lose everything; and those who stay to resist and fight. It aims to explore how people adapt to the constant presence of war, and how war gradually becomes part of human existence.
«Militantropos» is a co-production between Ukraine (the company «Tabor»), Austria and France.
In a comment to Lb.ua, the film’s co-director and «Tabor» co-founder Smith said that the film is currently available on the streaming service in North America in the original language with English subtitles, and will soon be released in Germany with German subtitles.
The world premiere of «Militantropos» took place in the parallel programme «Directors’ Fortnight» (Directors’ Fortnight) at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025.
