Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The two discussed strengthening protection against Russian ballistic attacks, early warning of strikes, and the situation surrounding Starlink and Starshield.
The head of state reported this in his social media post.
According to Zelenskyy, one of the key topics was ballistic missile interceptors needed to protect people’s lives. They also discussed timely warnings about Russian ballistic attacks, which the president described as vital.
Separately, the two raised the issue of the situation surrounding Starlink and Starshield, stressing the need to restore it.
The conversation took place against the backdrop of Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war and stopping the loss of life, the Ukrainian president noted.
“We agreed that we will be in touch again soon for an update. Thank you, Marco, for the constructive approach! Thank you to everyone in America who supports fair approaches!” Zelenskyy wrote.
What Happened Before?
Earlier, Marco Rubio commented on reports that Ukraine did not receive a warning about the first wave of Russian ballistic strikes on Kyiv. He said he does not have enough information to confirm this, but a few days ago there was a technical problem with the software of the early warning system.
