Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech has presented a new version of its drone detector — ‘Chuika 4.5.0’ — featuring an expanded frequency range. This was reported in the company’s press release.

According to the manufacturer, ‘Chuika 4.5.0’ operates across four bands: 1080–2200 MHz, 2870–4500 MHz, 4890–6040 MHz and 6050–8800 MHz. The additional 6.05–8.8 GHz band significantly expands the ability to detect signals used by FPV and fixed-wing drones on the battlefield, the company said.

The developers said the detector scans all four bands in parallel in around 4–8 seconds. If the device detects a relevant signal, it alerts the user with visual and audible indicators, and the intercepted video is immediately displayed on a large screen. Detection range is up to 4 km, depending on conditions and signal strength, BlueBird Tech said.

“One of the key features of the new version is the ability to transmit analogue video to external monitors. That means the user can not only receive an alert about a signal, but also analyse video from an FPV drone on a television set, which is useful for command posts and headquarters,” the developers noted.

According to the manufacturer, ‘Chuika 4.5.0’ has a casing measuring 104 × 158 × 67 mm. The device weighs 940 g. The casing is protected to the IP54 standard against dust and splashes, and an active cooling system is also provided. The design includes a MOLLE attachment for securing it to equipment. The device has a battery made up of four cells with a capacity of 5,000 mAh each, providing up to 4.5 hours of автономної operation in total.

In September, it became known that BlueBird Tech expanded the frequency range of the ‘Chuika 4.0’ drone detector to 4.5 GHz.
