On Monday, 28 February 2022, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) terminated the agreement with the Russian energy corporation Gazprom in all competitions.
According to the official website of the organization, the decision becomes effective immediately and applies to all existing agreements, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA national team competitions and Euro-2024.
Noted that in May 2021 UEFA extended the agreement with Gazprom. The company was to sponsor two European Championships and the Champions League until 2024.

Earlier today, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian national team and its football clubs from all international competitions due to military invasion in Ukraine.
Also Russia and Belarus have been suspended from all international hockey tournaments.
On 25 February 2022, the UEFA Executive Committee decided to move the Champions League final match from St. Petersburg to Paris. The game was scheduled for 28 May 2022 at a stadium funded by Russian energy giant Gazprom.
