Denmark to provide 1bn euros in aid to Ukraine

Ukraine has already received 2.8bn euros in military aid and another 378m euros in humanitarian aid from the partner country.

The Danish government will provide a new package of support for Ukraine worth 1 billion euros, Sky News reports.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said at a press conference in Oslo, she will submit the initiative to parliament on Thursday.

Denmark has already allocated about €2.8 billion in military aid to Ukraine and another €378 million in humanitarian aid.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the second Ukraine-Northern Europe Summit in Norway with the participation of Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir, and Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.

Mette Frederiksen said that Denmark would allocate more than 8 billion euros to Ukraine over the next few years and, together with its allies, would provide F-16 fighterjets. Parliament will also consider providing new aid, including drones and other equipment necessary for the fight.
