There are dead and wounded in Kyiv as a result of the attack on the night of 28 August. As of 18:09, there are 19 known victims and 38 wounded, wrote Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. Among the victims are four minors. Earlier, three children aged 2, 17 and 14 were reported killed.

‘According to the services, there may still be up to 10 people under the rubble,’ Tkachenko said.

One person died in the Shevchenkivskyy district, the rest in the Darnytskyy district, where the Russians struck a five-story building. At least three children were taken to hospitals, and a total of 10 minors were injured.

As of 11 a.m., ten people were reported missing and 13 dead. Rescue operations are continuing at five locations in the Darnytskyy, Shevchenkivskyy and Desnyanskyy districts.

29 August has been declared a day of mourning for the victims in the capital.

The consequences of the strikes have been recorded in the Dniprovskyy, Darnytskyy, Shevchenkivskyy, Svyatoshynskyy, Desnyanskyy, Obolonskyy, Holosiyivskyy, and Solomyanskyy districts of the capital. That is, in 8 out of 10.

For his part, Ukrainian professional tennis player Serhiy Stakhovskyy said that the ‘military’ target that Russia struck with missiles last night was a private school that had existed for over 30 years, as well as a kindergarten that the athlete had attended in his childhood.

We are involving the State Emergency Service’s aviation to extinguish the fires,” the Minister of Internal Affairs said at around 6:20 a.m.

“Three people were rescued alive from under the rubble. There is a high probability that there are still people under the ruins. Climbers, dog handlers, psychologists, engineering, fire and rescue equipment are involved. Robotic equipment is being actively used to clear the area so that rescuers can work faster. A total of about 500 rescuers and 1,000 police officers are working simultaneously in Kyiv,” Klymenko clarified at around 7:30 a.m.

A shopping centre in the city centre was hit, Klitschko reported after 6 a.m. The attack on the capital lasted for many hours, and each wave caused damage. The alarm was declared at 9:24 p.m. and lasted until 6:24 a.m.
