Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has spoken out about banning Russians from entering the EU.
He said the EU should shut the door to Russians now.
“Russian combatants and their family members should not have the right to enter the EU. We need to introduce real entry bans as soon as possible. Similar steps have already been taken at national level, including in Estonia. It is possible, and such measures work,” the Ukrainian minister stressed.
Sybiha added that issuing visas to Russian citizens for non-essential travel “must be restricted as much as possible in all European states”, because it is “a matter of national security for every European country”.
“Russian diplomats should also not be able to move freely around Europe. Russia’s attacks against Europe are no longer limited to hybrid methods. They are becoming increasingly intense and large-scale. This requires urgent action. Only tough pressure can stop Putin,” Sybiha said.
