On the evening of 25 April, the occupying forces entered the Kherson City Council building. They changed the guards and took away the keys to the building.

This was announced by Kherson Mayor Igor Kolykhayev on Facebook.

"Tonight armed men entered the building of the Kherson City Council, took away the keys, changed our security to their own. I left at 19:45 - the flag of Ukraine was still above the city hall," he wrote.

Kolykhayev promised to provide additional details later.

"Suspilne [Public Broadcasting Company]" with reference to information from employees of the city hall says that our flag over the building is gone. According to the employee, the russian military entered the building at 4:30 p.m., forcing all workers to leave. No explanations were provided.

The russians are preparing a pseudo-referendum in Kherson on 27 April, similar to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2014. Initially, they wanted to carry out this sham action in May.

The enemy entered Kherson on the first day of the war. Kherson residents have been holding peaceful rallies since the occupiers entered the city. The russian military instead intimidated and even dispersed and used force against them.
