Ukraine and Poland plan to set up a joint defense enterprise to manufacture weapons and military equipment.

This is stated in a joint statement by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the parties agreed to strengthen defense cooperation, develop the Polish-Ukrainian-British Union, work on strengthening sanctions against russia and work on cross-border cooperation.

It is noted that today a memorandum was signed on the establishment of a joint Polish-Ukrainian commission to establish cooperation between enterprises of both countries. This commission will prepare recommendations on the format of the Ukrainian-Polish joint venture for the manufacture of weapons, military equipment, and other equipment.

After consultations in Kyiv on June 1, the governments of Ukraine and Poland signed eight agreements on cooperation in various fields: energy, military-defense complex, cross-border and customs cooperation, environmental policy, reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as cooperation in national memory issues.

The Polish Foreign Ministry called Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz’s talks with Vladimir Putin meaningless.
