On the night of 23 July 2024, the Russian army attacked the territory of Ukraine with an X-69 guided missile and 8 Shahed strike UAVs.
According to the Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Russians attacked Sumy Region from the airspace of Kursk Region in Russia.
The air defence shot down 7 Russian attack UAVs Shahed - 131/136. As a result of active countermeasures, the Russian X-69 guided missile did not reach its target.
Units of the mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and electronic warfare units of the Air Force were involved in repelling the air attack.
