The minimum number of votes required to ban the UOC-MP in the Verkhovna Rada is available, MP Petro Poroshenko told journalists in a commentary. In response to a question from an LB.ua correspondent, he said that the opposition would block consideration of all decisions except military bills.

The position of his Eurosolidarity faction is that this bill should have been passed this week. He made this comment before it became known that the work of MPs in the parliament was cancelled until August.

‘If someone claims that there are no votes in the parliament, I say that this is an absolute lie. 226 votes have been collected. And, despite the enormous pressure exerted on individual MPs, I have no doubt that the law will be voted for, because I have a sufficient number of votes in the parliament,’ he said.

He also wants the Rada to vote to include the Russian Orthodox Church in the name of the UOC-MP.
