Law enforcement officers conducted a special operation in nine regions and detained 14 drug dealers. It was the largest network ever, the National Police said.

According to the National Police's website, all the offenders are behind bars. They have been chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention. 

Drug dealers distributed drugs and psychotropics using an extensive network of telegram channels. Through them, the dealers received orders and optimised the process of delivering the goods to customers through postal services and so-called stash. 

‘The monthly income from the sale of drugs was over UAH 10 million. As a result of 50 authorised searches in nine regions of the country, more than 20 kg of Alpha-PVP salts, amphetamine, mephedrone, cannabis, MDMA pills, 200 LSD stamps worth over UAH 11 million at black market prices, as well as cash in various currencies in the amount of UAH 2.8 million, 8 cars worth over USD 170 thousand, weapons and ammunition were seized from illicit trafficking,’ the police said.

The special operation involved special police regiments and KORD of the Main Police Departments in the regions, as well as TOR (tactical police) officers of the Sumy Patrol Police Department. The drug dealers operated in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Odesa, Kyiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi and Mykolayiv Regions.

The criminals were served suspicion notices under Part 2, 3 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues in particularly large amounts). 

The drug dealers face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Measures to expose other persons involved in drug-related crimes are ongoing.
