Russian forces carried out a targeted strike on a regional train running on the Dnipro–Zaporizhzhia route. Passengers were evacuated in advance due to threat monitoring and were not injured.
This was reported by the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.
The train was stopped before the strike, and passengers were taken out of the carriages. A mobile shelter had been set up near the stopping point.
At the same time, the whereabouts of one of the conductors remain unknown. According to Pertsovskyi, there is testimony that she returned to the train despite the fact that the evacuation was still under way and an elevated danger level had been announced. Rescue operations are continuing.
The head of Ukrzaliznytsia stressed the need to follow instructions during evacuations and move to shelters, as remaining in or near rolling stock during danger can have fatal consequences.
To transport passengers promptly, buses are being arranged jointly with the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administrations.

At the same time, the train was able to be stopped in advance at a station thanks to the work of Ukrzaliznytsia’s monitoring team. Passengers, as well as the train and locomotive crews, were evacuated. According to preliminary information, no one was injured in the attack.
