The government has expanded a state support programme to help install autonomous backup power sources in apartment blocks.
As Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyy reported, the programme was initially available in Kyiv, Kyiv Region and Kharkiv Region. It will now also be launched in four more regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Poltava and Sumy.
“Applications on behalf of co-owners can be submitted by homeowners’ associations, apartment block managers, as well as housing construction and service co-operatives. The programme provides for the installation of equipment that will keep lighting, water supply, heating, communications and lifts operating in the event of outages,” Koretskyy explained.
In addition to expanding its geographic reach, the Cabinet has also improved the programme’s implementation mechanism, the Prime Minister added.
