In this week alone, Russia launched about 1,600 guided aerial bombs at Ukraine, 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic ones, and nearly 2,300 attack UAVs.
Ukrainian President reported this, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to him, almost every day people are killed and injured as a result of Russian strikes.
In the evening, as a result of Russian shelling of the Dnipropetrovsk region, four people were killed and another 22 were injured. Those injured included an 11-year-old girl.
In Vinnytsia, a Russian drone hit a high-rise building, injuring six people. In Kharkiv, Russian forces first attacked a DIY hypermarket and then carried out a repeat strike on emergency services that arrived at the scene. Rescuers were injured.
Also overnight, the Russians attacked thermal power plants, substations, coal mines, grain storage facilities, shopping centres and a postal terminal. Overall, damage was recorded in nine regions.
"This is how Russia responds to diplomacy and de-isolation. And it is very important that, in parallel with the negotiating track, support for the defenders of life is not reduced," Zelenskyy stressed.
The President called for the unblocking of interceptor missile deliveries for Patriot systems already agreed by European partners, and for continued support for Ukraine’s combat aviation to defend against jet-powered "Shahed" drones.
According to Zelenskyy, defence assistance is especially important ahead of winter, as it helps save lives.
