Yesterday, Ukrainian mobile communications operators, Internet services, and telephony started to record first disruptions and then the complete disconnection of communications in the Kherson region.
The State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine reported this.
"Currently, the residents of the region are left without Ukrainian mobile communications and Internet access and without the possibility to make national and international calls using landlines," - informed the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine.
It is unlikely that communication in the region will be restored soon, as the equipment is under the complete control of the occupation regime and the russian military.
The State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine noted that this was not the first attempt to disconnect Ukrainian citizens who found themselves in the temporarily occupied territories. There have also been reports of russian propaganda being broadcast over loudspeakers.
"At the same time, we do not rule out further attempts to connect Ukrainian users to russian Internet networks and mobile operators, which are controlled by enemy intelligence services. Such actions will be a gross violation of international law and another confirmation that russia is acting as a terrorist state, using technology to occupy territories," - informed the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine.
While using their cellphones and the Internet in russian networks, Ukrainians are advised to follow security measures.
It will be helpful to read the recommendations on the use of communication in the temporarily occupied territories. One should also use a VPN when logging on.
