Ukrainian defenders repulsed several enemy assaults over the day of 12 May, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
In the Slovyansk direction, our fighters successfully repulsed an enemy assault in the areas of Brazhkivka, Dolyna, and Virnopilla.
Rushists [russian+fascist – tr.] also fail to advance in Sievierodonetsk. Some of the occupation units are storming the region of Toshkivka, the fighting is ongoing. The enemy assault in the area of Metyolkine was successfully fought off. The General Staff added that the enemy had to strengthen its group by introducing reserve units into the operation.
In the area of Popasna, Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped the enemy's offensive. The occupiers had to retreat. In the Bakhmut region, the russian army is advancing in the area of Nyrkove, the fighting is ongoing. Instead, in the Mykolaivka region, the enemy's offensive failed – under the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (UAF) accurate fire the occupiers retreated.
In the area of Berestove, the invaders suffered losses while attempting an assault and retreated to the previously occupied positions. Also, the occupiers, not sparing manpower, conducted reconnaissance in force near Volodymyrivka. "As it should be, our defenders competently met the enemy - the enemy withdrew with losses," – the General Staff mentioned.
The command pointed out that russians kept suffering significant losses.
"In order to organize medical support for the actions of a group of russian troops in the Slobozhansky direction, the 442nd Military Clinical Hospital from st. petersburg is additionally deploying a field hospital in the village of Shebekino, the Belgorod region," – the headquarters reported.

in Belarus during the check of combat readiness of the Republic of Belarus’ armed forces units are being brought to higher levels of combat readiness. Also, practical measures are being taken to accept conscripts, and weapons and military equipment are being removed from storage
in the Siversky direction, russians carry on mortar shellings of the Defence Forces’ position on the border areas. The invaders shelled the civil infrastructure objects in the Myropilske settlement of the Sumy region.
in the Kharkiv direction, the rushists shelled civil infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Udy, Prudyanka, Tsyrkuny, and Verkhniy Saltiv. They carried out airstrikes in the areas of Ternova and Rublizhne.
in the Lyman direction, the enemy intensified using barrel and rocket artillery toward Lysychansk. The occupiers shelled from artillery the civil infrastructure near Serebryanka and Bilohorivka.
in the Slovyansk direction, the russian army carried out systematic artillery shellings. They actively use electronic warfare.
in the Sievierodonetdk directions, the invaders shelled the civil infrastructure in the area of Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Metyolkine, Ustynivka, and Toshkivka.
in the Bakhmut direction, rushists shelled by artillery the Ukrainian positions near Mykolaivka, Bilohorivka, Hirske, Komyshuvaha, and Novoluhanske. Their army aircraft launched an airstrike near Pokrovsky.
in the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv, and Zaporizhzhia directions there were no active hostilities. The occupiers shelled the civil infrastructure in the areas of settlements New York, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, and Novoandriivka. They carried out a strike using assault aircraft near Maryinka.
in the South Buh direction, in order to stop Ukrainian units, the occupiers shelled our positions in the areas of Dobryanka, Velyka Kostromka, Murakhivka, and Prybuzke. Here, the enemy struck with assault and army aircraft near Snihurivka and Topolyne.
Ukrainian troops freed the village of Tavriiske in the Kherson region.
