Over the three years of full-scale war, Ukraine's defence industry has grown 35 times to $35 billion a year in sales. It proves its effectiveness on the battlefield every day. Over the past two years, the production of artillery has tripled, armoured personnel carriers - five times, anti-tank weapons - two times, and ammunition - 2.5 times. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhalhttps://en.lb.ua/tag/719_denys_shmyhal.html at the final press conference.
"Ukraine currently produces about a third of the weapons it needs. The goal is at least 50 per cent.
"The Ukrainian defence industry is integrating with the global one. We are developing the so-called Danish model, when our partners pay for weapons produced in Ukraine for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Under this model, we raised $1 billion in 2024: Denmark - $351 million, the European Union - $436 million, the United Kingdom - $67 million and Norway - $45 million," the Prime Minister said.
This model has provided concrete weapons on the battlefield.
Another innovative element of development is drones. Ukraine is the largest producer of combat drones. Last year it produced more than 1 million, and this year the target is more than 2.5 million combat drones. More than half a thousand Ukrainian companies are working on this.
