At least 116 foreign components were found in the North Korean ballistic missile that Russians used to strike Kyiv on 24 April, most of them manufactured by American companies.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

‘All the details about the missile are being clarified. But it is already clear that this is ballistics from North Korea. The lack of pressure on Russia allows them to import such missiles and other weapons and use them here in Europe. The lack of pressure on North Korea and its allies allows them to produce such ballistic missiles. The missile that killed the Kyiv residents had at least 116 components imported from other countries, and most of them, unfortunately, were manufactured by American companies,’ the statement said.

According to the President, as a result of the shelling on 24 April, Russians killed 12 Kyiv residents and wounded almost 90 in the city. According to him, more than 30 people remain in hospitals, including those with very serious injuries and amputations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that in the modern world, any war can quickly involve many different actors, and any country that falls victim to aggression always defends itself not from one person but from a group of accomplices. The Head of State emphasises that it is important that defence is based on collective efforts.

‘Ukraine is grateful to everyone in the world who helps protect the lives of our people, supplies us with air defence systems and missiles. We thank everyone who keeps the pressure on Russia for this war and its allies. We insist that Russia must immediately and unconditionally agree to a full ceasefire,’ he stressed.

The President reminds that 45 days ago, Ukraine agreed to the proposal of US President Donald Trump on silence in the sky, at sea and at the front. For its part, Ukraine offered to make the ceasefire complete and extend it, which could have been established on Easter.

‘We also made a direct offer to Russia to stop striking at least civilian objects. Russia rejects all of this. That is why this cannot be resolved without pressure. We need to put pressure on Russia. Stopping the killings is the first priority,’ the Head of State emphasised.
