Today, 14 May, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal introduced the new CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretskyy, to the staff of the company.
The Prime Minister announced this on social media.
Shmyhal thanked Koretskyy for his effective work at the helm of Ukrnafta.
The Prime Minister outlined the general priorities of Ukraine's energy security and a number of specific important tasks for Naftogaz in the near future:
- Preparing for the next heating season. All Ukrainians should have light and heat in their homes.
- Accumulation of sufficient reserves of ‘blue fuel’ in gas storage facilities for the autumn and winter period.
- Fast and high-quality restoration of the gas industry infrastructure damaged by Russia.
- Increase Ukrainian gas production to cover domestic needs to the maximum extent possible.
- Further development of distributed generation, which will minimise losses from Russian attacks and add new capacities to the Ukrainian energy sector.
"We expect Serhiy Koretskyy to deliver results in every area. We wish him strength and inspiration on this path! The activities of Naftogaz are key to Ukraine's sustainability. We look forward to even more productive work for the safety and well-being of people," Shmyhal wrote.
