The Ukrainian Book Institute, in collaboration with its Finnish partners from FILI (Finnish Literature Exchange), invites Ukrainian publishers to participate in an experience exchange programme as part of the International Editors’ Week for Non-Fiction Publishers. The announcement was made on the Institute’s official Facebook page.
The competition is open to Ukrainian publishers involved in buying and selling non-fiction translation rights.
The deadline for submitting the application form is 20 June (inclusive).
One Ukrainian publisher will be selected to take part in the programme with Finnish colleagues and will travel to Helsinki from 27 to 29 August (plus travel days).
All expenses – including economy class airfare, accommodation, and meals during the programme – will be covered by the Finnish organisers.
The exchange programme will include meetings with Finnish literary agents, whose contacts and information will be provided by FILI. In addition to B2B meetings with Finnish publishers, the programme will offer an introduction to the Finnish publishing industry, literary selections, and opportunities for cultural exchange.
The working language of the visit will be English.
FILI (Finnish Literature Exchange) is a non-governmental organisation that supports the translation, printing, and publishing of Finnish literature abroad.
