Russia launched a large-scale attack on the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv Region, killing two people and injuring 13 others, including children.
The strike took place between approximately 2:30 and 3:00 a.m. on 5 August, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Kharkiv Regional Police.
A 60-year-old man was killed at the scene, and a 72-year-old woman who had been taken to hospital after the attack died later in the morning. Among the injured are a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy.
Russia used over 30 Shahed-type attack drones (Geran-2) in the strike.
The attack damaged railway infrastructure, residential buildings, and an energy facility. Fires broke out across the city.
‘Under the procedural supervision of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into a war crime resulting in death (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),’ the statement said.
