Ukrainian poet Jurij Zawadzki took part in the Long Night of Literatures international festival organised by the EUNIC cluster in India. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Embassy of Ukraine in India.
A bilingual poet who writes in both Ukrainian and Polish, he presented selected works from his latest collections and read his poetry in both languages, offering the audience a vivid insight into Ukraine’s contemporary literary landscape.
He also took the opportunity to present to the audience the recently published Bengali translations of works by Taras Shevchenko prepared by Dr. Mridula Ghosh and released earlier this year by Jadavpur University Press.
The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of India expressed its sincere gratitude to the Polish Institute in New Delhi, the EU Delegation to India and the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi for their support.
The Long Night of Literatures festival took place in Kolkata, where Jurij Zawadzki actively communicated with visitors and represented Ukraine on the international cultural stage.
