Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and noted that the dialogue would continue.
He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
“I thank President of the United States’ representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for their visit to Kyiv. We had a good conversation — several rounds already — and we will speak again today. The main thing is to achieve a dignified, reliable and lasting peace for Ukraine. We are directing all efforts towards this,” the head of state said.
He added that he was “glad to meet”.
- Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv today. This is their first visit to the Ukrainian capital. Before that, Donald Trump’s envoys visited Moscow and met Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
- Witkoff said that he had brought “new ideas” from Moscow, and Kushner noted that an end to the war in Ukraine by winter is not guaranteed.
- Following the talks in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the territorial issue remains relevant. With the US, as well as national security advisers from Germany, France and the United Kingdom, they discussed air defence, a winter support package and further diplomatic meetings. A new meeting together with the US and European countries may take place in a few weeks.
