YouTube has blocked 31 channels in Ukraine belonging to Russian artists, propagandists and sanctioned individuals who support Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
The bulk of the blocked resources are YouTube channels of Russian music performers and cultural figures who support the war against Ukraine, take part in propaganda concerts or are under sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defence Council.
Channels blocked include: those of Filipp Kirkorov, Grigory Leps, Sergey Lazarev and Valeria, Larisa Dolina, Irina Allegrova and the band “Pelageya”; singer-propagandists Denis Maydanov and Yulia Chicherina; former People’s Artists of Ukraine Taisia Povaliy and Ani Lorak; and opera performers Anna Netrebko and Vasyl Herello.

The Centre noted that the blocked resources were used to spread Russian propaganda, glorify war criminals and support Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
The CCD stressed that it is continuing systematic work to cleanse Ukraine’s digital space of hubs of Russian influence.
