Russian forces shelled the premises of the TV channels "We Are Ukraine" and "We Are Ukraine+" during the day on 8 September. The main strike hit the newsroom and offices, and there are injuries as a result of the attack.
The media outlet reported this on its website.
At the time of the strike, the TV channel was broadcasting live as part of the national telethon "United News".
Rescue workers and medics are working at the scene. Those injured are being given the necessary assistance.
According to information from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the building was partially destroyed as a result of the attack, and rescue workers have already put out the fire.
So far, five people are known to have been injured, but the number may rise.
"Shaheds" against the media is a new chapter in Russia’s degradation, and there must definitely be a reaction from Europe and the world to this. No strike against Ukraine and Ukrainians — against life — can be left unpunished," the head of state wrote.
- On the night of 20 August, the "We Are Ukraine" office was damaged during a massive strike on Kyiv. At the time, windows were blown out in the building, the newsroom suffered significant damage, and the blast wave destroyed part of the ceiling in the corridors.
