The Dignitas charitable foundation has delivered the first 23 mobile command posts to units operating against Shaheds — paired kits consisting of a converted minibus and a pick-up working together, the foundation said. It added that it plans to hand over a further 500 such pairs, in line with the Air Force’s needs.
The minibus contains operators’ workstations, control stations, autonomous power supply, battery-charging systems and communications equipment. The pick-up provides the crew with manoeuvrability on position and can work with various types of modern interceptors. The key advantage of such a post is its independence from infrastructure: the crew can deploy where there is no stable electricity supply or communications.
“These kits have all the equipment needed for our unit to carry out its mission effectively — destroying enemy air-defence targets such as Shahed and Gerbera. The mobile command posts will help us take up positions efficiently and discreetly, and deploy quickly where and when needed,” explained Oleksandr Ivashchuk, deputy commander of the interceptor battalion of the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment.
The first kits were distributed among several units: one went to the “Cats” counter-UAV group from the “Predator” Patrol Police brigade; the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment will use eleven (nine have been delivered), while another eleven are being reallocated, most of them expected to go to the 1021st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment.
According to Dignitas founder Liuba Shypovych, last year instructors’ analysis showed that mobile crews work significantly more effectively precisely because they are independent of power sources.
The foundation plans to equip 500 crews with minibuses and pick-ups as part of the “Anti-Shahed Line” project, launched jointly with the Air Force. The vehicles and conversions were provided by the Dutch foundation Protect Ukraine.
In parallel, the foundation is training operators of interceptor drones: as of 1 September, 1,442 people completed training in 2025–2026.
