The government has adopted a decision on organising the education process amid ongoing security challenges.

As Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi reported, communities should explore the possibility of using additional equipped shelters.

According to the head of government, each school will independently choose its learning model based on the security situation, the capacity and the condition of protective structures. Lessons may be held directly in classrooms, in shelters, or by combining in-person and remote formats. At the same time, timetables must be flexible and predictable so that parents can plan their day in advance.

If the shelter area does not allow all lessons to be held in person, priority will be given to core subjects: mathematics, natural sciences, language and literature disciplines, as well as civic and historical fields. The remaining subjects will be taught remotely if necessary.

Protective structures in schools operating in the normal mode must be fully adapted for children to stay there for extended periods. According to the requirements, it is necessary to set up learning spaces there, provide high-quality lighting, ensure back-up power, internet access and proper sanitary conditions, Koretskyi added.

The Ministry of Education and Science will check compliance with these standards every month.
