Tymoshenko seen building up lead in popularity rating

The leader of the opposition Fatherland party, Yuliya Tymoshenko, has the greatest support among the respondents who intend to cast votes in the presidential election due next year. It has increased compared with May of this year.

According to a survey conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the Razumkov Centre in August, her rating is 17.8% of respondents who intend to vote (in May it was 13.3%).

The leader of the opposition party Civic Position and former defence minister, Anatoliy Hrytsenko, is next with 8.4%, incumbent President Petro Poroshenko has 7.9%, the leader of the opposition party For Life, Vadym Rabinovych has 6.7%, and a co-chairman of Opposition Bloc, Yuriy Boyko, has 6.4%.

Showman Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has not yet announced his intention to run for president, has 6.1%. The leader of the Radical Party, Oleh Lyashko, is supported by 5.8%. Singer Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, who has not declared his presidential ambitions, can score 5.6%.

The nationwide survey of the Ukrainian population was carried out on 16-22 August2018 in all regions of Ukraine except for Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. S

Some 2,019 respondents aged 18 years and above were interviewed. The margin of error does not exceed 2.3%.
