It is unrealistic for the occupiers to rebuild Mariupol in the near future, an adviser to the city mayor, Petro Andryushchenko, said on the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon, UNIAN reports.
According to him, it is impossible to establish a "normal life" in the city in the next few years.
"Now the former toastmaster is responsible for the housing complex, and we understand that it is all happening there in this way. Even if we assume that some specialists will appear there, it is impossible to improve life in Mariupol in the next two years," the official said.
According to Andryushchenko, communications in the city have been destroyed, in particular, gas will have to be laid again.
"That is, no boiler house will work. And in autumn and winter we will have problems with heating. And what to do? Nobody is doing it. You can rebuild the city in the absence of hostilities, but you need to have a plan, specialists, resources and, most importantly, time. And the occupying power has none of this. That is, all this is a great deception of the people who remain there," Andryushchenko said.
At the checkpoints around the city in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the occupiers rotate. They are replacing local collaborators with Rosguardians and Kadyrovites.
It is also known that the russian occupiers are increasing the rate of deportation of men from Mariupol to "filtration camps".
