The United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with multiple rocket launchers to protect against russian aggression.
This was stated by British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, writes CNN.
A statement from the British Foreign Office said that the M270, which could hit enemy targets at a distance of up to 80 km, would significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"This step was in line with the US decision to provide Ukraine with its HIMARS artillery missile systems (a type of multiple rocket launcher)," the agency said in a statement.
According to British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, support for Ukraine should change depending on how russia's tactics on the battlefield change. High-efficiency M270 missile systems will allow Ukrainians to protect themselves better from the use of long-range artillery by russia, which putin's forces indiscriminately used to destroy Ukrainian cities.
"The United Kingdom supports Ukraine and has taken a leading role in supplying Ukrainian troops with vital weapons needed to defend the country," Wallace said.
The British government has also announced that the Ukrainian military will be trained to use the M270.
