Adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko stated that almost 460 deported children from Mariupol and Volnovakha districts are currently being held in the rostov region and near st. petersburg.
He said this today on the air of the national telethon #UAtogether.
"As for children, this is our extra pain… We are trying to find out, search and collect this information, where our children can be. Today we have found 260 children, but not only from Mariupol, these are children from Volnovakha, Mariupol districts - they are currently being held in one of the children's camps in the rostov region… We know that at least 200 children are somewhere near st. petersburg today", - he said.
He added that they are "trying to turn Ukrainian children into citizens of russia quickly" and at the same time simplify the procedure for their adoption by russians. Therefore, over time, it will be increasingly difficult to find Ukrainian children in russia, because even russians do not keep records of them.
The city of Mariupol also does not yet have accurate information on how many orphans and homeless children currently are in Mariupol.
